My blog will contain additional commentary and resources relating to the videos I post on my Youtube Channel, as well as additional topics I would like to discuss~

If you’re new to my content, welcome! My name is Caitlyn, and I’m a midwest artist who loves to read! I believe art should be accessible to everyone - from making to enjoying. Creating my art digitally and through printmaking helps with my goal because you can make multiples of the same illustration.

At the beginning of the year, I was feeling extremely lost. I was at a crossroads in my life. I’m currently working two jobs, freelance illustrator and library worker. One has more risk, and one has more stability. I applied and interviewed for a higher position at the library, and in the end I didn’t get the job. A lot of people, including me, felt like I was guaranteed to get it, so I was very shocked I didn’t.

It took me a while to come to terms with it (and a lot of therapy haha), and to realize what I truly want in my life. In hindsight, I’m very thankful I didn’t get that job! It made me realize that I should double down on my art career and make some big changes, like start a Youtube channel and refocus on building a portfolio. That week in my life, this phrase came to me: I deserve to live the life I want to live.

And with that, I’m going to do that. Easy, right?

Well no. But chasing after that dream?

That’s the best feeling in the world.
